How Carly Came to doing a job she loves every single day....
Carly is a professional dog trainer who has worked hands-on with dogs since 2019, full-time since 2022. Her work is grounded in practical experience, ongoing academic study, and continued professional development, giving her both real-world insight and a strong understanding of canine behaviour and learning.
She specialises in helping:
- Rescue dogs finding their feet
- Dogs who find the world overwhelming
- Big personalities who are “too much”
- Dogs lacking manners and boundaries
- Reactive dogs
- High-drive dogs who struggle to switch off
Carly is the Director of Major Power GRC, an obedience and drive sports club focused on creating dogs you can take anywhere. The club channels drive into something structured and productive while strengthening the relationship between dog and handler. Everything is built around partnership.
Alongside her training work, Carly volunteers for a local rescue. She fosters dogs who need behavioural work before finding their new homes and carries out assessments to better understand what each dog requires from their future family. Her priority is simple: owners leave each session having achieved something. No confusion. No guesswork. Just clarity and a clear pathway towards building the dog they want. Carly does not believe in quick fixes or masking problems. She believes in getting to the root of the issue, unpicking it together, and rebuilding dogs with understanding, structure, and confidence.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Carly works with the dog in front of her and tailors training around each family’s lifestyle and goals, making it practical, achievable, and enjoyable.
She is committed to continuous growth, regularly attending development days with skilled trainers across the UK and recently beginning a mentorship with a talented US trainer to further refine her skills and stay aligned with the evolving world of dog training.

Presenting & Public Speaking
Carly brings a natural talent for presenting- whether to a small group or a full arena. With a background in corporate presenting for a global tech company, she’s seamlessly transferred those skills into the world of dogs, delivering engaging, informative, and passionate talks on topics close to her heart.
She has presented on BBC Radio Kent, at rescue centres on the emotional journey of dogs post-rescue, provided assistance dog education, confidently MC'd at events, narrated dog sports, and delivered live demonstrations - most recently at PAWFEST. Carly’s relaxed, knowledgeable style resonates with audiences of all kinds including schools where she provides basic safety around dogs in an interactive way.
Now exploring the world of podcasting, Carly continues to find new ways to share her voice and message.
